Boone County Public Works Named Organization of the Year, Tyler Hill Honored as First Responder
Boone County Public Works Department has received top honours at the 2023 APWA Kentucky Chapter Awards. The department was named Organization of the Year, with three of its members also earning individual accolades. Tyler Hill, Project Development Specialist, was named First Responder of the Year.
The department's recognition comes on the heels of significant improvements to stormwater drainage and runoff issues along Ryle Road. Hill's efforts in this project, along with those of his team, have enhanced safety and sustainability in the area.
The APWA Kentucky Chapter awards celebrate outstanding service and engineering across the state. In addition to the Organization of the Year award, the Boone County Jail received the Historic Preservation Award for restoring historic cemeteries. The department's exceptional performance, innovation, and commitment to improving quality of life for residents were highlighted throughout the ceremony.
Other individual winners from Boone County Public Works include Robert Franxman, named Engineer of the Year, and Michael Norcia, honoured as Young Professional of the Year.
The Boone County Public Works Department's leadership in delivering projects that enhance safety, sustainability, and quality of life has been recognised by the APWA Kentucky Chapter.
