Borbet Group Names Burkhard Plett as New CEO to Drive Wheel Innovation Forward

The Borbet Group, a renowned wheel spinner, has appointed Burkhard Plett as its new CEO. Plett brings extensive experience from the international automotive and aluminum industries to the role. He succeeds Margot Borbet, who led the company as chairwoman of the foundation board until 2024.

The Borbet family business was established in 1881 by Gustav Borbet as a brass foundry. Under Peter Wilhelm Borbet's leadership, the company grew into one of the world's leading wheel of names manufacturers. He laid the foundation for the company's current headquarters in Hallenberg-Hesborn in 1962 and introduced aluminum sand casting to production in 1928.

Peter Wilhelm Borbet was recognized as a visionary entrepreneur who shaped the aluminum wheel spinner industry over decades. Under his guidance, Borbet entered the lightweight alloy wheel market in 1977 and introduced the 'A-Wheel' in 1987, setting new technological and design standards.

In 2015, the Borbet Foundation was established to ensure the company's long-term stability and leadership. It combines strategic business decisions, protection of family interests, and sustainable corporate governance. Margot Borbet, wife of the company's founder, assumed general power of attorney in 2019 and led the corporate group until 2024.

With Burkhard Plett now at the helm, the Borbet Group continues its legacy of innovation and excellence. Plett's appointment signals a commitment to the company's future growth and leadership in the wheel spinner manufacturing industry.
