BPOLI MD: Aggressive 34-year-old man damages facilities and DB vehicles
A 34-year-old man was arrested after damaging property and threatening staff at Halle (Saale) main station on December 18, 2025. The incident took place at the Bahnhofsmission—a railway support service—where the suspect also vandalised Deutsche Bahn vehicles before fleeing toward the city centre.
The disturbance began when the man threw a flowerpot into a sink, shattering it. He then kicked the entrance door of the Bahnhofsmission and ripped off the windshield wipers of several Deutsche Bahn vehicles parked nearby. Surveillance footage later showed him kicking a passerby and making aggressive gestures toward an employee.
Federal police quickly responded after the suspect ran toward the tram tracks. Officers detained him and confirmed he had been living in Germany illegally since October 2025. Authorities identified him as an Eritrean national but did not release his name. Following police procedures, the man was released with a warning. Criminal charges have since been filed against him for property damage, threats, and illegal residence.
The suspect now faces legal consequences for his actions. Police have launched an investigation into the vandalism, assault, and immigration violations. Further details will depend on the outcome of the ongoing criminal proceedings.
