Brand Eins' Fischer and Bergmann Step Down; Christian Rickens Returns as New Editor-in-Chief
Gabriele Fischer and Jens Bergmann, the current editor-in-chief and deputy at brand eins Medien AG, will step down from their leadership roles. They will continue with the company as authors and contributors. Meanwhile, Christian Rickens will join the team on July 1, 2026, initially serving as an advisor to the editorial team.
Rickens brings a wealth of experience in business journalism. He previously served as the economics editor at Spiegel Online, a reporter at Manager Magazin, and contributed as an author during the early days of brand eins. Most recently, he worked at Handelsblatt.
Gabriele Fischer welcomed Rickens' appointment, praising his extensive experience and deep understanding of brand eins. Rickens, in turn, expressed excitement about returning to the publication and helping shape its future.
Christian Rickens will take over as editor-in-chief of brand eins on January 1, 2027. His appointment follows the stepping down of Gabriele Fischer and Jens Bergmann from their leadership roles.
