Woidke travels to the UK - Visit to Rolls-Royce - Brandenburg’s leader visits Rolls-Royce to boost aviation ties post-Brexit

Brandenburg's Minister-President, Dietmar Woidke, is set to visit Rolls-Royce in the UK next week. The trip aims to strengthen the company's Dahlewitz site in Brandenburg and explore expansion opportunities as the aviation industry recovers.

Woidke will meet with Dominic Horwood, CEO of Strategy at Rolls-Royce, during his visit. The two will discuss a structural transformation and knowledge exchange between the regions of Brandenburg and the UK. Despite Brexit, Woidke sees close economic ties between the two regions.

The Minister-President will also visit the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) at the University of Sheffield. A declaration of cooperation is planned between AMRC and the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. This collaboration is expected to advance both regions, particularly in the field of hybrid electric systems.

Rolls-Royce plans to invest around €35 million in its Dahlewitz site in 2023, demonstrating its commitment to expansion in Brandenburg.

Woidke's visit to Rolls-Royce in the UK is expected to yield positive results for both regions. The planned investments and collaborations suggest a bright future for the aviation industry in Brandenburg and the UK, despite the challenges posed by Brexit.
