Braunschweig approves 1,100 new homes in two major development zones
Braunschweig City Council has given the green light for over 1,100 new housing units across two major development zones. The projects in Rautheim-Möncheberg and Feldstraße aim to expand living space while improving local community infrastructure. Both areas will also benefit from better transport connections and community facilities.
The Rautheim-Möncheberg area will see around 800 homes, including single-family houses and multi-family apartments. A planned light rail extension will provide residents with strong public transport links. The city council has ensured that infrastructure work here will align with the rail line’s construction schedule.
With zoning now approved, construction can move forward in both Rautheim-Möncheberg and Feldstraße. The projects will add over 1,100 homes to Braunschweig, with a third reserved for subsidised housing. Improved transport and community facilities will support the growing neighbourhoods.
