Brazen aluminium theft in Bielefeld leaves police baffled

Between Tuesday evening, March 24, 2026, and Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, thieves stole aluminum from a property on Bekelheider Straße.

A Bielefeld resident filed a police report for theft after unknown perpetrators removed several aluminum beams—weighing approximately 800 to 1,000 kilograms—from a container on the premises near Grundheider Weg. The theft is believed to have occurred between 6:00 PM on Tuesday evening and 10:00 AM on Thursday morning.

Authorities suspect the stolen material may have been transported away by vehicle.

Witnesses who observed anything suspicious at the scene are asked to contact Criminal Investigation Division 13 (Kriminalkommissariat 13).
