Bremen’s Wishing Tree Campaign Aims to Brighten Christmas for 650 Children in Need
A Wishing Tree campaign has launched in Bremen to bring festive cheer to families and children in need. Organisers have collected 650 wishes, each costing no more than €20, from local charities and shelters. Residents are now invited to pick a wish, buy a gift, and help make Christmas brighter for someone less fortunate.
The campaign is led by Bürgerschaft President Antje Grotheer, working alongside six organisations. These include SOS Children’s Village Bremen, Women Helping Women Bremen North, and the Autonomous Bremen Women’s Shelter. Other partners are the Society for Integrative Social Counseling and Support Bremerhaven, Hermann Hildebrand House, and Little Rascals Children’s Home.
The Wishing Tree initiative relies on the generosity of Bremen’s residents to fulfil 650 modest requests. With gifts due by December 11, organisers will distribute them to charities the following day. The effort highlights community support for vulnerable families during the festive season.
