Bridge Closure on P.R. 200 Disrupts Businesses, Entrepreneur Offers Signage Solution

A bridge closure on P.R. 200 has caused disruption for businesses and visitors alike. Clint Masse, a local entrepreneur, has suggested improvements to signs, while work on the bridge is set to continue until fall 2026.

The bridge over the floodway on P.R. 200 is currently closed for repairs. The project, led by Ricardo Morales, is expected to be completed by November 15, 2025. However, the closure has already impacted local businesses. Clint Masse, owner of A Maze in Corn, relies on 80% of his income from the business during the few short weeks it's open each year. Due to the road closure, customers were refunded for online tickets, leading to a loss of revenue for Masse.

The bridge closure has also affected signage, with some visitors turning back due to 'local traffic only' signs. Masse suggested that signage should state 'bridge closed 10 km away' to give visitors more notice and help them plan their routes accordingly.

The bridge closure on P.R. 200 is expected to last until fall 2026, causing ongoing disruption for local businesses and visitors. While repairs are underway, led by project manager Ricardo Morales, business owners like Clint Masse face obstacles due to the closure. Improvements to signage, as suggested by Masse, could help mitigate some of the issues caused by the closure.
