Brisbane Police Investigate Murder-Suicide of Anaesthetist and Daughter
Brisbane police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving an anaesthetist and her daughter. Dr. Tiffany Wilkes, 54, and her 8-year-old daughter Clementine were found dead at a high-end Airbnb property in Kenmore Hills. The pair was last seen at a townhouse in Norman Park, which Dr. Wilkes owned but never inhabited.
Dr. Wilkes, a highly respected specialist who worked across major Queensland hospitals for over a decade, was ordered to undergo involuntary mental health treatment in 2023. Despite this, she appeared calm in CCTV footage taken just hours before the bodies were discovered, as she casually took out the bins at the Airbnb property.
Clementine's school attendance became erratic in 2023, leading to her withdrawal from mainstream schooling this year. It remains unclear where the young girl was homeschooled, as there's no evidence that she and her mother lived in the Norman Park townhouse purchased by Dr. Wilkes. Some reports suggest the pair is alive and well, contradicting the current findings.
Police are treating the deaths as a murder-suicide and are preparing a report for the Coroner. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to understand the circumstances leading up to the tragic event. Dr. Wilkes' colleagues and neighbors have expressed shock and sadness at the news.
