BRK-Day Care Celebrates
The Buchloe Day Care Center recently hosted a festive Christmas celebration, drawing around 80 visitors from the local community. The event showcased performances, a nativity play, and a special visit from St. Nicholas, highlighting the centre’s role as a cherished gathering place.
The celebration began with a warm welcome from Helga Lehmann, head of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) day care centres. She commended her team for their work in fostering intergenerational connections and supporting families in the area.
Renate Wende, the centre’s director, organised a nativity play performed by some of the day guests. The group had rehearsed under her guidance, adding a personal touch to the festivities. St. Nicholas also made an appearance, taking time to visit each guest individually. The Dösingen and Beckstetten Community Choir, led by Günther Filser, filled the room with Christmas carols. Later, a joint devotional service was held, conducted by Protestant pastor Christian Fait and Catholic priest Father Dieter Zitzler. Buchloe’s mayor, Robert Pöschl, thanked the team for their dedication, emphasising the facility’s importance in a society where family support networks are becoming less common. Renate Dantinger of the Bavarian Red Cross also reflected on the centre’s growing popularity and the strong community backing it receives.
The event brought together residents, caregivers, and volunteers in a festive atmosphere. With performances, religious services, and personal interactions, the celebration reinforced the Buchloe Day Care Center’s role as a vital community hub. Organisers and attendees alike left with a sense of shared connection as the holiday season continued.
