The city council approved the competition in May 2026, marking the start of a process aiming to create a compelling architectural design that will guide future urban planning, traffic, and architecture.
The competition is divided into two phases. The first phase, urban planning, is set to commence in early October 2025 and is expected to wrap up by the end of the year. Following this, the second phase, architecture, will take place in the second quarter of 2026, culminating in a final jury session.
The invitation documents for the competition are due to be sent out soon. The architecture phase of this competition will be led by ASP Architekten, in collaboration with Volksbank BRAWO eG.
