Budapest Unveils Stunning Terracotta Warriors Exhibition from Ancient China

A major new exhibition has opened in Budapest, showcasing the famed Terracotta Warriors of China’s first emperor. Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok officially launched Guardians of Eternity – The Terracotta Warriors of China’s First Emperor at the Museum of Fine Arts. The display will remain open to the public until the end of May.

The exhibition traces 1,000 years of Chinese history, covering three key dynasties. Among its highlights are two meticulously reconstructed tombs, offering visitors a glimpse into ancient burial practices. Over 150 artefacts are on show, including bronze works, ceramics, gold, jade, and pieces from the legendary terracotta army.

The exhibition runs until late May, giving visitors a chance to explore one of archaeology’s most remarkable discoveries. With artefacts spanning centuries, it offers a direct connection to China’s imperial past. The Museum of Fine Arts has not yet released details about the curator or further programming.
