Bültenweg in Braunschweig to Close for 10 Days for Major Resurfacing
A major resurfacing project will close Bültenweg in Braunschweig for ten days. The work begins on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and runs through Friday, April 10. Drivers and businesses in the area will face temporary access changes during this period. The closure affects the section of Bültenweg between Am Bülten and the HEM gas station. For the full duration, the road will be completely shut to traffic in both directions. This follows the typical timeline for similar projects in German cities, which usually last between five and fourteen days.
Businesses on the west side of Bültenweg (numbers 39 to 44) will only be reachable from the south. Vehicles leaving the area between Nordstraße and Am Bülten must detour south via Franz-Liszt-Straße and Langer Kamp to reach Hans-Sommer-Straße. East-side businesses will remain accessible from the north between April 1 and 6. However, from April 7 to 10, they will only be reachable on foot. The HEM gas station will stay open and accessible from the north throughout the closure. To ease congestion, Bültenweg will temporarily allow two-way traffic between western commercial properties and the junction with Langer Kamp. Once the resurfacing is finished, normal traffic rules will return.
The ten-day closure aims to improve road conditions on Bültenweg. Residents, drivers, and businesses should plan for altered routes and limited access. Normal traffic flow will resume once the work is completed on April 10.
