Burgenland’s governor speeds up municipal funding after successful surgery
Governor Hans Peter Doskozil has approved an early release of funds, providing crucial financial support to municipalities in Burgenland. This decision, made after a successful surgery, ensures liquidity and operational capacity ahead of schedule.
Doskozil, who recently underwent a successful larynx surgery at the University Hospital Leipzig, has prioritised the disbursement of funds. The operation, performed by Professor Andreas Dietz, addressed a breathing issue caused by a constriction in Doskozil's larynx.
Contrary to ÖVP claims, allocations under the Municipal Investment Act (KIG) had already been distributed. Burgenland's municipalities received their needs-based grants, totalling €10 million, earlier than usual this year. This early transfer aims to provide immediate financial support and maintain operational capacity.
