Burien Residents Can Tune In to Key City Council Meeting on Monday

Burien residents have multiple ways to tune in to the City Council meeting on Monday, November 3, starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting can be attended in person, watched on Comcast TV Channel 21, joined via Zoom meeting, or viewed live online. The agenda includes several key topics, including arts and culture funding, the Art in Public Places project list, and a proclamation for Native American Heritage Month by Councilmember Jimmy Matta.

The meeting will kick off with an executive session to discuss legal matters with legal counsel. Following this, City Manager Adolfo Bailon will provide an update on the DESC Bloomside project. The council will then turn its attention to the 2026 mid-biennium budget update, with a public hearing scheduled for the first time at this meeting. This hearing will delve into revenue sources, expenditures, and potential property tax increases.

The council will also discuss and potentially adopt new ordinances related to property tax charges. Additionally, updates to the city's legislative priorities for 2026 are on the calendar.
