Canadian Minister MacDonald Heads to Mexico to Boost Agri-Food Trade
Canadian Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Heath MacDonald, is set to visit Mexico from October 14 to 17. His trip follows a recent meeting between Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and expand agricultural cooperation.
MacDonald will meet with key Mexican officials, including Julio Berdegue, Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Javier Calderón, Director of the National Service of Health and Agropecuary Quality. These meetings will focus on diversifying and growing trade between Canada and Mexico. Additionally, MacDonald will engage with local business leaders and stakeholders to promote Canadian agricultural and agri-food products. His itinerary also includes a trip to Guadalajara to further connect with Mexican stakeholders.
