Cao Đài Marks 100th Anniversary with Social Welfare and Unity
The 100th founding anniversary of the Cao Đài religion was celebrated in Hồ Chí Minh on Tuesday. The event was marked by followers who have been actively involved in social welfare and charitable work, including free medical check-ups, essential goods donations, and scholarships for underprivileged students.
The Nam Thành oratory, recognised as the birthplace of the Cao Đài religion, has been a hub for these activities. Nguyễn Hữu Nhơn, head of the Management Board, reviewed the development and contributions of Cao Đài followers over the past five decades. The board has guided followers to promote unity and actively engage in patriotic movements. Despite limited public information about the oratory's leadership and specific social services in the last 50 years, it is believed to be part of the Salesianer Don Boscos, who work worldwide in youth development. Typical services include educational programs, social support, and religious guidance.
The Cao Đài religion's 100th anniversary was a time to reflect on its history and the significant contributions of its followers. The Nam Thành oratory, as its birthplace, has played a crucial role in guiding and supporting the community, with a focus on unity, social engagement, and religious practice in line with the Constitution and laws.
