Caritas Takes Full Control of Sozialstation Sonthofen After 25-Year Partnership
The Caritas Association Kempten-Oberallgäu has assumed full control of the Sozialstation Sonthofen following the withdrawal of Diakonie Allgäu after a 25-year partnership. The transition, effective immediately, comes after a substantial investment of over one million euros by Caritas in the facility over recent years.
The Sozialstation Sonthofen, now solely under Caritas' sponsorship, continues to provide essential services including an outpatient nursing service, meals on wheels, a home alarm system, and the St. Hildegard senior care home. Maximilian Bogner, board member and managing director of Caritas, supports the decision and looks forward to maintaining cooperation with Diakonie Allgäu in other areas.
Markus Brehm, the new chairman of Caritas' supervisory board, assures that the change in ownership will not impact the quality of services or the Christian foundation of the social station. The Diakonie Allgäu, meanwhile, will focus on its core areas in the Kempten/northern Oberallgäu region, Memmingen/Unterallgäu, and the Lindau district, while Caritas will continue to serve the Oberallgäu and the city of Kempten.
The full takeover of the Sozialstation Sonthofen by Caritas Association Kempten-Oberallgäu is complete, with no expected changes in services or quality. Both Caritas and Diakonie Allgäu express commitment to continued cooperation in other areas and projects.
