Carole A. Feuerman’s Hyper-Realistic Sculptures Redefine Contemporary Art at 80

Carole A. Feuerman, an 80-year-old sculptor, has shaped contemporary art since the feminist movement of the 1960s and 70s. Known for her hyper-realistic torsos, her work now features in 45 museums worldwide, including the Smithsonian Institution. Her upcoming exhibitions at the Medici Museum of Art in Ohio and the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Azerbaijan will further showcase her influence.

Feuerman’s career took off when Malcolm Forbes became her first major collector. His support opened doors to other high-profile buyers, such as former President Bill Clinton. Beyond art, she funded her work through entrepreneurship, running businesses in real estate and art sales.

Her achievements have earned her the International Sculpture Center’s 2026 lifetime achievement award. Alongside her commercial success, she founded the Feuerman Sculpture Foundation to uplift underrepresented artists. With over 250,000 TikTok followers, she also shares glimpses of her studio and exhibitions. Currently, Feuerman is working on a documentary about her life and career. Her upcoming shows in Ohio and Azerbaijan will mark the latest chapter in a decades-long journey.

Feuerman’s hyper-realistic sculptures remain in demand across museums and private collections. The 2026 lifetime achievement award and her ongoing documentary will cement her legacy further. Her foundation continues to support emerging artists, ensuring her impact extends beyond her own work.
