CDU and SPD Team Up in Krefeld City Council for Economic Progress
In Krefeld's city council, the CDU and SPD have initiated a cooperative approach, focusing on fair collaboration among all democratic factions. They have begun restructuring committees, with a keen emphasis on economic issues and digitalization.
The negotiations for this restructuring, which included a member of the CDU whose name remains undisclosed, took place in 2025. The parties aim to ensure that every council group has a seat on each of the 22-member committees.
The Committee for Administration, Economic Affairs, and Digitalization, and the Committee for Public Order, Security, and Emergency Response will undergo significant changes. Meanwhile, most committees from the previous term will continue largely unchanged. Notably, digitalization will be consolidated under one committee, and public order and security will have its own dedicated committee.
The CDU and SPD have informed all other parliamentary groups about these planned changes. The focus is on constructive cooperation and giving greater weight to economic issues, reflecting the city's commitment to progress and security.
