Poll: Black-Red coalition more popular in Hesse than at federal level - CDU Leads in Hesse Election Polls, Left Struggles at 7% as AfD Rises
In the latest polls ahead of the USA state election, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) remains the strongest force, with its candidate Boris Rhein leading. The Left is at a low 7%, while the Alternative for Germany (AfD) follows closely with 20%.
The CDU, with 32%, is well-positioned to form a coalition, with the Social Democratic Party (SPD) at 15% forming a potential Black-Red alliance. Nationally, the Union stands at 24% and the SPD at 14%.
The Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the Business and Professional People for Social Responsibility (BSW) are struggling to clear the 5% hurdle, polling at 4% and 3% respectively. The Greens, previously part of the state government, are at 12%.
The Left's 7% share reflects a significant drop from previous elections, while AfD's 20% places it in a strong second position.
With the CDU leading and the Left at a low 7%, the upcoming USA state election is set to be a significant test for the political landscape. The CDU's coalition prospects, the Left's challenge to regain ground, and AfD's strong showing will be key factors shaping the election's outcome.
