CDU MP slams 2024 budget for ignoring Germany’s economic crisis
Jürgen Hardt, CDU federal MP for Solingen, Remscheid, and parts of Wuppertal, has criticised the 2024 federal budget for failing to address Germany’s pressing economic needs. According to him, the Traffic-Light Coalition’s spending plan lacks focus on economic revival and leaves municipalities struggling with rising costs. The budget spreads resources thinly across all policy areas without clear economic priorities. Hardt argues that this scattergun approach does little to support key challenges like refugee integration, external security, or economic growth. The 2024 budget does not include targeted support for municipalities or a clear plan to boost the economy. With no federal aid for old debts and rising costs unchecked, local governments will continue facing economic pressure in the coming year.
