At the bottom, we see the road. In the middle, we see a board in black color with some text written. Beside that, we see a building in green color. We see a door, a statue and the flowertots. There are buildings and we see the plans. On the right side, we see a building and a board in green color with some text written on it. We see the lights in the background.

CDU’s Thomas Götz elected unopposed as Gräfrath’s new district chair

A new chair has been elected to lead Solingen’s Gräfrath district council. Thomas Götz, a long-standing CDU member, secured the position without opposition. His election ends a 15-year gap since the party last held the role.

Götz has lived in Gräfrath for nearly 20 years and served on the district council for seven. As head of the CDU’s local branch, he ran unopposed in the vote. His deputies will be Sascha Schilling (SPD) and Helen Conrads (SG Zukunft).

The result marks a shift in local leadership, with the CDU returning to the chair’s office for the first time since 2009. Götz and his deputies will now guide the district’s policies and projects in the coming term.
