Expleo and Airbus: A 20-Year Partnership in Global Aviation Innovation

Expleo, a global engineering, technology, and consulting service provider, has been collaborating with Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer, for two decades. This long-standing partnership has seen Expleo contribute to various significant projects, focusing on digital innovations, sustainability, and developing aerospace talents in India.

The collaboration between the two companies began with the A380 programme in 2005. Expleo's Indian team started supporting Airbus, working on various global engineering and industrial, digital transformation, and operational efficiency programmes. One of the early milestones was Expleo's contribution to the A350 centre fuselage integration, performing design and stress studies through to certification in 2009.

In 2011, Expleo took on design and stress engineering responsibilities for the A320 sharklets. This was followed by a significant development in 2014, when Expleo developed the vehicle management system for helicopters for Airbus.

The partnership deepened in 2013 with Expleo's support for the A400M, focusing on flight warning systems, both legacy and next-generation, as well as high-lift device engineering across several Airbus programmes. This collaboration has continued to grow, with Expleo expanding its contributions to Airbus in 2023, including joint structure optimisation, manufacturing engineering, and service strategic supplier global referencing.

Expleo's work with Airbus includes driving Airbus' digital transformation and fuelling continuous innovation and growth. Alexandre Willemont, Senior Vice President, Aerospace of Expleo, considers Expleo in India as an integral part of their global engineering business with Airbus. The Indian team is involved in delivering a reliable and secure solution for global Airbus programmes.

The latest milestone for Expleo and Airbus partnership came in 2025 with Expleo's entry into airworthiness. Today, Expleo's contributions to Airbus now include AI and emerging technologies.
