Central Valley’s Veterans Day Parade honors decades of service and sacrifice
The 106th Central Valley Veterans Day Parade took place in Downtown Fresno on Tuesday, honouring veterans and their service. Among the participants was Mario Flores, a 27-year Marine Corps veteran, who expressed gratitude for the support shown.
The parade, which took place on Tuesday, saw veterans wearing hats and jackets commemorating their time in service as they rode through the route. Gilbert Mendez, a crew chief in the Vietnam War, took a moment to appreciate his own sacrifice and service.
Community members, including Bella Rodriguez and Sydney Hobbs, came out to show their respect. Sydney's father, an air force veteran, was also present. Local law enforcement, high school bands, and other groups from across the Valley joined in the celebrations.
Event organisers have already begun planning for next year's parade, ensuring the tradition continues.
