Century Lithium Produces High-Purity Lithium Hydroxide
Century Lithium Corp. has achieved a significant milestone with the production of high-purity lithium hydroxide at its demonstration plant in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. This marks the first time the company has produced lithium hydroxide from lithium carbonate derived from its Angel Island lithium project.
The lithium hydroxide, with a purity of +99.5%, was created using Century Lithium's patent-pending alkaline leach and Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process. This process has the potential to supply both lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide to the domestic market from the Angel Island project.
The company is also exploring a direct lithium conversion (DLC) process to produce lithium hydroxide directly from lithium chloride solution, further diversifying its production methods.
The successful production of high-purity lithium hydroxide is a testament to Century Lithium's innovative processes and the potential of its Angel Island project. The company continues to advance its technology and exploration efforts under the guidance of qualified persons, including Mr. Maxime Dupéré, P. Geo., Ms. Sarah Dean, P. Geo., and Todd Fayram, MMSA-QP.
