Channel 4 Launches Two Podcasts to Fight Misinformation and Engage Young Audiences

Channel 4 is launching two weekly podcasts, Untangled and A News Thing, to engage younger audiences with impartial, fact-checked news. Hosted by Stacey Dooley and Ben Zand, and Michael Odewale, Finlay Christie, and Dan Tiernan respectively, these podcasts aim to counter misinformation and reach audiences with lower trust in traditional news brands.

Untangled, produced by Strongwatch Studios, will focus on providing context to the most-shared stories on users' social media feeds. Hosts Stacey Dooley and Ben Zand will delve into the details behind viral news, ensuring listeners get the full picture.

A News Thing, produced by Zandland, offers a comedic take on weekly headlines. Hosts Michael Odewale, Finlay Christie, and Dan Tiernan will bring a lighter touch to news consumption, making it more accessible and engaging for younger listeners. Both podcasts will be available as vodcasts on YouTube and Spotify.

Commissioned by Charlie Hyland, with Sacha Khari and Louisa Compton, these podcasts mark Channel 4's effort to engage younger audiences with news in a way that resonates with them. By providing impartial, fact-checked news in an engaging format, Untangled and A News Thing aim to foster a more informed and news-literate generation.
