Chattogram’s DT Road gets a Tk 6.31 crore facelift for safety and commerce
Chattogram City Corporation has launched a Tk 6.31 crore project to renovate DT Road in ward no-29 of West Madarbari. The initiative, part of the Green City initiative, aims to enhance safety, aesthetics, and commerce in the area.
The project involves clearing unwanted items, laying bituminous carpeting, and constructing 500 metres of drains, RCC slabs, and sidewalks. Additionally, 400 metres of road medians were renovated and trees planted to beautify the area and promote greenery.
To improve road safety, reflective 'cats' eyes' were installed along with road markings and zebra crossings. These measures aim to guide vehicles and pedestrians effectively. The mayor, Shahadat Hossain, has plans to construct 50 important roads in the next year to further improve the city's communication and transportation network. However, the names of the fifteen streets planned for construction within the next year are not yet publicly available.
The renovation of DT Road is expected to enhance safety and aesthetics, while also attracting investment and boosting commerce in the area. The mayor's plans to construct 50 important roads in the coming year indicate a commitment to improving Chattogram's infrastructure and connectivity.
