Chemnitz Buzzing with Events This Week: Mayor and Lord Mayor Lead the Way

Chemnitz is abuzz with events this week, with Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky and Lord Mayor Sven Schulze leading the way. They will greet various delegates, host meetings, and attend cultural events, ensuring the city remains active and connected.

The week begins with Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky welcoming a delegation of former scholars from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on Tuesday at 3:00 PM at the Town Hall. Later that day, she will greet attendees of the State Conference for Volunteers, Green Ladies, and Gentlemen of the Evangelical Hospital and Elderly Care Association (e.V.) at Chemnitz Hospital on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.

On Tuesday at 9:30 AM, the Schilling sculptures at Schlossteich Pond will be enclosed in protective housing. In the evening, the Klaffenbach Local Council will convene at 7:00 PM at the Klaffenbach Town Hall. Meanwhile, the Advisory Council for Inclusion of People with Disabilities will hold its meeting at 4:30 PM in Room 118 of the Town Hall.

On Thursday, representatives from the Chemnitz Urban Planning and Property Office, StadtWohnen Chemnitz housing agency, and the owner of the property at Philippstraße 21 will host a press briefing and site tour at 10:30 AM in observance of World Cities Day. Later that day, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze, along with the city’s mayors, invites Chemnitz residents to a public town hall meeting at 5:00 PM at the Town Hall. The City Council will also hold its session on Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the City Council Chamber.

Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will attend the final round of the 29th International German-Language Poetry Slam Championships on Saturday, November 1 at 8:00 PM. Earlier in the week, Mayor Knut Kunze will present awards to the winners of City Cycling 2025 on Tuesday at 12:30 PM at the Assembly Hall, Johannes Kepler Gymnasium.
