Chicago restaurant owner fears closure after repeated break-ins go unsolved
Franco's restaurant in Bridgeport, Chicago, has been targeted in a series of break-ins, with the latest incident occurring on Sunday. Owner Frank Ruffalo is growing increasingly concerned about the financial impact and the lack of progress in identifying the culprit.
Over the past two years, Franco's has fallen victim to three break-ins. The most recent incident saw a suspect caught on camera around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. Despite the clear evidence, the police have yet to identify or apprehend the suspect. The break-ins have caused significant financial strain, with losses equivalent to a week or two's profit. The stolen items, primarily liquor and vodka, have resulted in more damage than their value. Ruffalo fears that if the situation continues, it may lead to the closure of his businesses. Another of his restaurants, Il Culaccino in the South Loop, was also recently targeted. Ruffalo hopes to catch the person responsible but expresses little optimism in the police's ability to do so.
