This week-long event, now in its 25th year, is providing thousands of Chicago-area families and veterans with nourishing meals and essentials to celebrate the holiday season.
The association's mission is to nourish both body and spirit during the holiday season. This year, they aim to distribute 3,000 turkeys, along with baked goods and food gift cards, throughout the week. The event kicked off on Tuesday at the McDonald's located at 5015 West Madison Street, one of five distribution locations across Chicago.
Veterans are given priority service at these locations. All they need to do is present their military ID. The association hopes to feed thousands of families and veterans in the Chicago area over the week.
