Chita River Embankment Revitalization Project Moves Forward Despite Resident Concerns

The revitalization of Chita River's embankment is underway, with a significant contract awarded for its design documentation. The project, aiming for completion by 2030, has faced criticism from residents and is currently undergoing state expert review.

Neon LLC has been tasked with developing the project documentation, with a completion deadline set for October 30, 2025. The total cost of this contract amounts to 205 million rubles, funded through both federal and regional budgets. Initially, additional funding was reported to be required for the embankment's design.

Residents aired their concerns during a public discussion held on November 21, expressing fears about potential flooding risks posed by the revitalization plans. Despite these concerns, the design documentation is progressing, with its accuracy currently being verified as part of the municipal contract. Construction is expected to commence in 2026, contingent upon the approval of the design and the securing of necessary financing.
