Chita's Speaker Slams Unpaved Roads, Blames District Heads and Avroragaz

Chita's Speaker of City Duma, Yevgeny Yarilov, has slammed the state of unpaved roads in the city. He blamed the neglect of district heads and the consequences of Avroragaz's past actions for the poor condition of the roads.

Marina Popova, Chair of the Municipal Economy Committee, confirmed that no district head is addressing road grading. The city administration has switched road maintenance responsibilities from Avroragaz to the Regional Energy Company of Transbaikal Territory LLC. However, the identity and specific involvement of the new company in road repairs remain unclear.

Funding shortfalls and Avroragaz's past negligence are the main hurdles. Avroragaz failed to restore roads after its excavation work. Currently, only 400 million rubles have been allocated for repairs, far short of the needed 1.2 billion. District heads have had to fund road repairs themselves due to inadequate Municipal Road Service (DMRSU) maintenance.

Yarilov's criticism highlights the urgent need for improved road conditions in Chita. The city administration's decision to replace Avroragaz with another company shows a commitment to addressing the issue. However, the lack of detailed information about the new company and the funding gap raise concerns about the road repair timeline and effectiveness.
