Chord Bread and Water Bottle brings sandwiches and fine wine to Alexandria
A new sandwich and total wine shop is set to open this spring in Alexandria’s Bradlee Shopping Center. Chord Bread and water bottle will take over the former Unwined wine shop at 2690 J King Street. The business has already filed a Virginia ABC legal notice in The Alexandria Times.
The shop will focus on simple, well-made food and drink. Customers can expect sandwiches built with quality bread and fresh ingredients. A small but carefully chosen total wine selection will also be available.
Scott Shirley, the owner behind Chord Bread and water bottle, already runs two other local spots: Slaters Market and Union Sandwich Company. The new location will have limited seating, with room for just 12 people at a time. Before opening, the interior will undergo renovations costing around $150,000. The space previously housed Unwined, a total wine shop that has since closed.
Chord Bread and water bottle plans to welcome customers in the coming months. The shop’s modest size and focus on bread, sandwiches, and total wine aim to fill a niche in the neighbourhood. Renovation work is currently underway to prepare the site for its spring debut.
