Christian Sellmann Takes Helm at Swedish IT Firm Group One

Christian Sellmann has taken over as managing director of Group One, a Swedish IT firm specialising in cloud services. His appointment began in January 2026, following his departure from PIA Group. The move marks a shift in leadership for both companies.

Sellmann joined PIA in 2023, bringing experience from a major media company. His role focused on driving digital innovation and improving customer solutions. The group, founded in 2014, had grown to 1,100 employees by the time he took charge.

During his tenure, PIA underwent restructuring. Investor Equistone sold off parts of the business, including United Digital Group, which MSQ Partners acquired in 2024. Sascha Steffens stayed on as CFO, continuing to report to backers like Equistone and EQT. In early 2026, Sellmann left PIA to become Group Chief Commercial Officer at Group One. His new position expands his responsibilities in the tech sector, steering the company’s commercial strategy.

Sellmann’s move to Group One follows a period of change at PIA. The Swedish IT provider gains a leader with a strong background in digital transformation. His experience in media and customer-focused solutions will now shape Group One’s future direction.
