A violent confrontation in Leipzig’s Paunsdorf district left a 31-year-old man seriously injured on Christmas Eve. The victim suffered multiple slash and stab wounds during the attack and was rushed to hospital. His injuries were later confirmed as non-life-threatening by authorities.

The incident began when a 30-year-old man, still unidentified by police, kicked in the door of an acquaintance’s apartment. Inside were a 36-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, who was then attacked by the intruder. A struggle broke out, resulting in the 31-year-old sustaining severe wounds.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the altercation. Police have since launched a manhunt but have yet to locate the 30-year-old. No further details about the attacker’s identity have been released to the public. Investigations into the motive and circumstances of the assault remain ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the attack.

The victim remains in hospital recovering from his injuries. Police continue their search for the suspect, who is still at large. The case has raised concerns about violent crime in the area during the holiday period.
