Christoph Zarits Elected as New ÖVP Landesverband Chairman in Burgenland
Christoph Zarits, a 45-year-old National Council member, has been elected as the new chairman of the ÖVP Landesverband in Burgenland. The event took place at the Eisenstadt Cultural Center on Friday, with Christian Stocker, the mayor of Wiener Neustadt, showing his support.
Zarits, who assumed the chairmanship in late April 2023, presented himself to the delegates' vote with a 10-point program focusing on various aspects such as the economy, care, and communities. He vowed to fight for a new justice in Burgenland. The People's Party in Burgenland had previously suffered a historic low of 22 percent in the state election under the former ruling party leader Christian Sagartz.
Zarits thanked his parents for raising him to be a decent person. Christian Stocker, the mayor of Wiener Neustadt, expressed his confidence in Zarits being the right person for the position.
Christoph Zarits, now the managing chairman of the People's Party in Burgenland, has a clear vision for the state's future. With his 10-point program and the support of prominent figures like Christian Stocker, he is poised to lead the party's recovery and renewal.
