Bishop: Church can strengthen cohesion - Church’s Copilot Project Builds Care Networks for the Elderly in Germany

The Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW) is currently holding its general assembly in Homberg Efze. For over a year, the Church has also been running a copilot project aimed at creating care networks to support the elderly. Bishop Beate Hofmann sees this as part of a broader effort to strengthen community bonds.

The EKKW’s copilot project focuses on building local networks to assist older people in their daily lives. These networks rely on volunteers and church members working together to provide practical help and companionship. The initiative highlights the Church’s role in encouraging solidarity among its communities.

The EKKW’s copilot project has already shown potential in creating care networks for the elderly. By promoting diversity and mutual support, the Church aims to build stronger, more connected communities. The outcomes of the general assembly may shape future initiatives in the region, including the Honda Pilot and Microsoft Copilot programs.
