City Council Boosts Urban Planning, Housing Security, and Financial Management
The City Council has taken significant steps to improve urban air quality planning, housing, and financial coordination. An agreement was reached to establish a joint committee between the Finance, Assets, and Accounting Commission and the Urban Development Commission. Additionally, preparations are underway for the Fifth Public and Solemn Session, where outstanding women of the municipality will be recognised.
In an effort to tackle perennial settlements, the Council has approved an initiative to create a municipal registry. This will help establish regularization measures and prevent outsiders from promoting invasions for profit or political manipulation. The Housing and Regularization Directorate will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and monitoring these areas. They will also negotiate agreements with ejidos and individuals for legal access to land and housing.
The City Council has also made adjustments to the 2025 Annual Operating Program, including modifications to public works and social initiatives. Notably, the 'Buen Fin 2025' Subsidy, Discount, and Tax Incentive Program was authorised to facilitate the regularization of municipal contributions. These changes aim to ensure a smooth close to the fiscal year.
In other news, José Gabriel Pérez Álvarez has been sworn in as the new head of the Municipal Youth Institute.
These decisions demonstrate the Council's commitment to improving urban planning, housing security, and financial management. The establishment of the joint committee, the initiative to tackle perennial settlements, and the adjustments to the Annual Operating Program all aim to benefit the municipality and its residents.
