City invests 600M rubles to transform winter street cleanliness
The city has announced a major push to improve street cleanliness this winter. An extra 600 million rubles will fund new equipment, higher wages, and expanded cleaning services. Officials are also tackling staff shortages by recruiting workers from rural areas.
The investment will upgrade street-cleaning machinery and repair existing vehicles. More frequent sidewalk sweeps are planned to stop ice forming during temperature shifts. This means additional shifts for cleaners, particularly in busy districts.
The 600 million ruble boost will fund better equipment, higher pay, and extra shifts for cleaners. Recruitment from rural areas should help address staff shortages. With stricter oversight and expanded cleaning services, the city expects cleaner roads and pavements in the coming months.
