City's Social Welfare Centers Cut Walk-In Hours Starting April 1
The Social Welfare Department at the Social Services and Job Center is changing its public service hours. Starting April 1, new walk-in times will be introduced at four key locations across the city. Residents will still have options for urgent visits and scheduled appointments outside these slots.
From April 1, walk-in consultations will take place every Monday and Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. This change affects four branches: Konradinerallee 11, Schwalbacher Straße 26, Dotzheimer Straße 99, and Hagenauer Straße 44. The department has not disclosed how many staff will handle these peak periods.
Those needing assistance outside the set times can still book individual appointments. In urgent situations, visits will remain possible during the centre's regular operating hours. The adjustment aims to streamline access while maintaining support for residents with pressing needs.
The new schedule begins on April 1, with walk-in services limited to two mornings a week. Residents requiring help at other times must arrange appointments or visit during emergencies. The updated system applies only to the four specified locations.
