The Airbus Group, headquartered in Blagnac, France, is a global aerospace giant with a diverse portfolio of companies and affiliates. Each entity operates independently, with the use of the Airbus name not creating obligations or liabilities for another Airbus company or affiliate.

Airbus S.A.S., the parent company, is responsible for the design and production of Airbus aircraft. One of its significant roles is the final assembly of aircraft in Germany, managed by Airbus Operations GmbH. Meanwhile, Airbus Helicopters, another subsidiary, is a leading manufacturer of helicopters.

In North America, the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility, located in Mobile, Alabama, is responsible for the production of A320 family aircraft. This facility also houses some assembly of the Airbus A220, a program operated by Airbus Canada Limited Partnership (ACLP), a joint venture originally formed with Bombardier and Investissement Québec. Airbus acquired a majority stake in this JV in 2017.

Airbus Defence and Space, another subsidiary, focuses on defense and space technology. The list of Airbus companies and affiliates is non-exhaustive and may not include all entities at any given time.

As of 2025, Airbus's corporate structure includes Airbus SE as the parent company along with several affiliated entities and joint ventures. Airbus SE consolidates the group's operations and financials. ACLP, the joint venture operating the Airbus A220 program, is one such entity, originally formed as a partnership between Bombardier, Investissement Québec, and Airbus.

Airbus is in the process of acquiring related assets from Spirit AeroSystems, a supplier with current financial difficulties, to vertically integrate parts of its supply chain. This acquisition is expected to close in late 2025 and would reduce Airbus's reliance on third-party component suppliers.

Airbus's operations are regionalized with subsidiaries and facilities in Europe (main Airbus civil and defense production), North America (Mobile plant for A220 and other programs), and other global locations. One of the latest additions to the Airbus fleet is the Airbus BelugaXL, a new cargo aircraft designed to transport large aircraft parts.

Lastly, Airbus Protos is a research and technology center based in Spain, focusing on future aircraft technologies. The Airbus Group’s corporate strategy includes leveraging joint ventures like ACLP for specific programs and integrating suppliers like Spirit to improve production efficiency and control.

In summary, key Airbus-affiliated legal entities are:

| Entity | Distinct Role/Focus | |-------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------------| | Airbus SE | Parent holding company | | Airbus Canada Limited Partnership (ACLP) | Joint venture operating Airbus A220 (ex-Bombardier CSeries) | | Spirit AeroSystems (under acquisition) | Supplier assets for vertical integration and supply chain control |

The Airbus Group continues to innovate and expand, shaping the future of aerospace technology.

  1. Airbus Helicopters, another subsidiary under Airbus SE, is a leading manufacturer in the helicopter industry, while Airbus Defence and Space focuses on defense and space technology, highlighting the group's diversification in the finance and aerospace business sectors.
  2. In 2025, Airbus SE served as the parent holding company for various subsidiaries and joint ventures such as Airbus Canada Limited Partnership (ACLP), which operates the Airbus A220 program, and Spirit AeroSystems, a supplier now under acquisition to further control the supply chain and improve production efficiency in the aerospace and finance industries.
