Clearmont Honors WWI Centennial at Veterans Day 2024 Program
The Clearmont Historical Group invites the public to their annual Veterans Day 2024 program on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. This year's main event commemorates the centennial of the armistice that ended World War I. Unlike previous years, no specific event is scheduled for Veterans Day itself in Clearmont, but related celebrations took place on November 8. The program begins at the Clear Creek Valley Veterans Memorial with a brief talk, followed by activities at the Clearmont Community Center. Several speakers will share stories about their military service or that of their family members. The AC School band will also perform special music. Refreshments will be served during the event. The armistice, signed on November 11, 1918, took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, marking the end of the 'war to end all wars'. The Clearmont Historical Group's program aims to honor and remember the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. The Clearmont Veterans Day 2024 program is open to all and promises to be a meaningful and engaging event. It serves as a reminder of the importance of remembrance and the value of our veterans' service. The program starts at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, at the Clear Creek Valley Veterans Memorial and continues at the Clearmont Community Center.
