Closure of the Marburg City Administration
Marburg’s city administration will close over Christmas and the New Year period. While most offices shut down, some essential services will remain available on restricted schedules. Residents can still access certain departments for urgent matters during the break.
The city administration, including the Immigration Office at Frauenbergstraße 35, will be closed from Wednesday, December 24, until Friday, January 2. AquaMar and the City Library will also remain shut throughout the holiday season.
Online services will stay available 24/7, allowing residents to complete digital requests. The Citizen Services Office will offer pre-booked appointments on Monday, December 29, and Tuesday, December 30. During these two days, completed IDs and passports can be collected without an appointment.
For emergencies, the Migration and Refugee Assistance department will provide limited support. They can be contacted by email or phone on December 29 and 30. The Marburg-Biedenkopf district administration’s on-call service will handle urgent administrative inquiries between 08:00 and 11:30 on the same dates. The Servicehof Am Krekel will operate with reduced opening hours during the break.
The Registry Office and other key departments will reopen in January. Until then, residents needing urgent assistance should use the designated emergency contacts or online platforms. Normal operations will resume after the holiday closure.
