Club of Chief Editors and Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agree on Cooperation

A new cooperation agreement has been signed between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense and the Editors’ Club. The memorandum aims to strengthen ties between government institutions and the media. It was formally signed at the National Military-Patriotic Center in the presence of senior officials and journalists from across the country.

The document was signed by Bibigul Zhexenbay, President of the Editors’ Club and a senator, alongside Vice Admiral Serik Burambayev, Deputy Defense Minister for Educational and Ideological Work. Editors-in-chief from various regions attended the ceremony, with many joining online.

The memorandum outlines plans for joint educational and outreach activities. These include training programmes, seminars, and press tours designed to improve media understanding of military affairs. A key part of the agreement is the creation of an expert council within the Club of Editors-in-Chief. This council will focus on enhancing the quality and accuracy of military reporting. The initiative also seeks to encourage professional and responsible coverage of defence-related topics. By fostering a stable partnership, both sides hope to build greater trust between the media community and public sector institutions.

The signed agreement marks a formal commitment to collaboration between the media and the Ministry of Defense. Educational initiatives and expert-led improvements in reporting will now move forward under this framework. The partnership is expected to shape how military issues are communicated to the public in the future.
