Colleague’s joyride ends in crash and arrest after stealing a car in Krasnodar
A joyride turned into a costly mistake for a 27-year-old man from Magadan Oblast. He has been arrested after stealing a car in Krasnodar and crashing it at an intersection with Svobody Street. The vehicle has been returned to its relieved owner.
The incident began when the car owner left their keys unattended on the curb, allowing the thief to take the car for a spin. The thief, who was identified as a colleague of the car owner, had no prior criminal record.
The stolen car was later recovered after the thief crashed it at the intersection. Traffic police swiftly detained the suspect. Prosecutors are now considering pretrial restrictions, with the thief potentially facing up to five years in prison for theft and refusing to comply with a lawful police order.
The car, which was stolen while its owner was briefly away, has been returned to its rightful owner. The accused, a resident of Magadan Oblast, awaits the decision on pretrial restrictions, with a potential prison sentence of up to five years.
