The city has deployed a massive security force to ensure public order. Over 1000 police officers, 450 public order office staff, and 1200 private security personnel will work together under an extensive security concept. The 'Kwartier Lataeng' area around Zülpicher Straße will be cordoned off and subject to access restrictions.
To cater to the large crowd, around 750 portable toilets and urinals will be installed across key locations, with approximately 480 set up in 'Kwartier Lataeng' alone. The carnival festivities will kick off on Weiberfastnacht (Women’s Carnival) on February 12, culminating in the grand Rose Monday parades on February 16.
Cologne's carnival season, themed 'ALAAF – We’re Doing It for Cologne', is set to be a vibrant and secure event. With robust security measures in place, including a glass ban and strict access controls, residents and visitors can look forward to a safe and enjoyable celebration.
