Colorado Tire Dealer Wins 2025 Humanitarian Award for Decades of Giving

Ron Lautzenheiser, co-owner of Big O Tires franchises in Colorado, has been named the 2025 Tire Dealer Humanitarian of the Year by Tire Business magazine. The award recognises his outstanding community service and philanthropy in Fort Collins over nearly three decades.

Lautzenheiser opened his first Big O Tires store in 1996 with his son Jim, expanding to four locations across Colorado. The business has always prioritised community engagement, offering complimentary vehicle inspections, tire rotations, and wheel alignments to families supported by Project Self-Sufficiency. Their collective efforts have raised over $100,000 for local causes.

Lautzenheiser's commitment to giving back was further honoured with the 2025 Tire Dealer Humanitarian of the Year award. The award, a cornerstone of Tire Business' commitment to ethical leadership, came with a $2,500 donation to a charity of Lautzenheiser's choice. He selected Project Self-Sufficiency of Colorado, reflecting his dedication to empowering local families.

Lautzenheiser's impact extends beyond his tire business. He co-founded Coats & Boots, distributing winter gear to over 1,000 kids each year. Alongside his wife Katie, he launched Project Smile, providing free dental and vision care to over 10,000 underserved children in Fort Collins. Lautzenheiser was also an early advocate for redeveloping north Fort Collins, investing in a new store and helping to found the North Fort Collins Business Association.

Ron Lautzenheiser's 2025 Tire Dealer Humanitarian of the Year award is a testament to his lasting positive impact on Fort Collins. Through Big O Tires, Coats & Boots, Project Smile, and his advocacy for north Fort Collins, Lautzenheiser has shown an unwavering commitment to his community.
