ComCom issues written warnings to 'TV 25' and radio-television 'Farvana'
The Georgian Communications Commission (ComCom) has issued written warnings to two broadcasters for failing to meet programming requirements. TV 25 and Farvana both violated their authorisation terms by not airing mandatory content.
ComCom found that TV 25 did not broadcast required news programmes, breaking its licence conditions. Farvana, meanwhile, failed to air public-political content as mandated.
Neither broadcaster had received fines for similar violations in the past year. Despite this, the Commission had previously penalised both companies for other breaches. This time, however, officials decided that formal written warnings were the appropriate response. Both TV 25 and Farvana operate under general broadcasting authorisations. These licences require them to include news and public-political programmes in their schedules.
The warnings serve as an official notice to both broadcasters. They must now ensure compliance with their authorisation terms. Failure to do so could lead to further regulatory action.
